Me with Sandro Luporini

After 3 months I finally had 2 days of time just for myself.

So I published 600 new pictures, from the last 4 months.

I’m sorry for my readers/viewers, I know that’s a lot of pictures and a lot of time, but I’m working like a slave in this period.

Due to the fact that it was too hard to divide pictures into categories, I used the 2007 trick to publish this pictures:

- All the new pictures that was done in a particular event, are inside “categorized” folders that are the ones with the quad brackets [ ]
- they are all published there but there are also some new generic pictures, so I suggest you to go there as always.
- I will NOT duplicate the good thematic pictures inside those galleries, in the old thematic galleries. That would take me too long.

Here is a short list of the 4 new “categorized” folders:

  1. Forte Gazzera
An interesting photo-trip into an old structure in the Venetian countryside.
  2. Murazzi
A bonfire in the Venetian beach of Lido, that endured from sunset to dawn.
  3. Viareggio
A very important trip for me. This is where I known Sandro Luporini, co-writer of Giorgio Gaber’s lyrics and his big friend.
  4. Redentore
The work I did for a customer, it’s the party for the Day of Redentore 2008 in Venice.

Also the pictures of my short holiday in Sardegna are coming.

I’m really full in these days …

But I’m going to publish my new pictures in the week-end.

I uploaded some pictures.

I miss tirty… and I miss also the time to do things better.

In the meantime, here they are.

Edit: now I uploaded every picture of my Rome-Milan trip.

After a year, I decided to change this website back in a weblog.

I was wrong when, long time ago, I splitted the sections into Work, Photography, and Blog, and made the “News” page the main page of the website to avoid visitors to see my blog section stuff without clicking on it.
This makes  the website always equal, so it seems that it’s never updated.
But that is wrong.

I published a lot of nice things in the last months, and I will do more in these days.

My initial intention was to do only one website for all my business, but that’s not professional and also strategically wrong.

I’m going to open in a month or two my business website: alvisenicoletti.com
and my business card: alvisenicoletti.info

So I will divide things in a better way.

In these weeks I’m having more visitors from China that from Italy and USA.

So, I would like to thank all my chinese visitors.

Please continue to look my photos.

One year of full-time activity for me, expecially for this website.

This last two months this website was a little unattended, I had a lot of other things to do for myself.

But in the meantime it changed a lot, I fixed up the Feel section, cause it’s important for me to show to other people what I like and what it’s my opinion about it.
Also, I taked that occasion to translate some italian lyrics that I like.
I will do that several times in the future, cause some songs can speak more than thousand words.
Actually I translated only Come L’Aria by Tiromancino and Il Coniglio by Giorgio Gaber.

To put the artist of each song as the first article of each category, I used the plugin AStickyPostOrder by AndreSC.

Also, I improved the browseability of the website with Internet Explorer 7 resolving a bug with a trick.
I hate Internet Explorer.

Also, I did a lot of things in the photography section, I described the news in this post.

2008 will be a wanderful year, I can feel it.

Thanks to all my supporters!

In this week-end I improved the general accessibility of the website, for non-compliant browsers like Internet Explorer 7.
Honestly, I don’t have the time to make my theme visible by older versions of Internet Explorer cause they simply suck.
That is just a personal website, so I do things in my personal way.

As I already said elsewere, I suggest you to use Firefox.

I did a lot of things in the photography section, and to list them I created a new category: the photo news.

There I will keep you updated about interesting photos or other photographic works I did.
I also started to put names and comments in some photos, please be patient until I find a good way to emphasize the named and commented images so you can spot them without opening them.

Comments are so important for me to make people understand the objective I tried to accomplish with each picture.

I also started to re-arrange the old California category, in wich I tryed to report the things I did in my holiday.
I published only 4 days of 21… that takes me a lot of time cause I’m using a lot links and images to describe my experience.
I think that is the best way to communicate… in a modern world… Describe things with the frequent use of images and links.

What else to say… this website is giving me a lot of satisfactions, I will keep it updated the more I can.

I want to thank all my readers …

This weekend, more precisely sunday, I reached the peak of visitors, with the number of 75.
That is so important for me, and I’m happy that my photos was viewed by a high % of them.

Now this website’s structure/code is nearly finished, (at least is usable), so I will concentrate only on my photos, the publication of other articles about useful things, and on my other projects.

Other projects “on the stocks” are:

  • a collaboration with Alex Rabe, developer of the NextGEN Gallery to improve his plugin.
  • a change of this theme’s xhtml generator, to make the html code compatible with the SandBox theme.
  • the publication of this theme, hoping to get in that way some visibility.

In the meantime, thanks to everybody.

I finished to set up everything.

Now the website should be complete and browsable, I just need to improve the navigation with the right-column menu, and I’ll start with the alternative styles.

Also the Blue-Orange style is usable, but I still need to change it a lot. It’s more an experiment than a style, but I’m proud that I managed to implement it.

… after a month and more of work, I managed to set up this, new, website.

Website… yes. It’s the right word.
Cause my first objective was to make things better, so to have just a blog wasn’t enough anymore.

After a year, I think that I can say my blog experiment worked.
I have some readers, and also, I have a lot of things to write.

Several sections are still “to write”, however, I’m quite satisfied of the re-organization.
